Neodymium Doped Borate Glasses for NIR Emitting Solid State Device Applications

Objectives: To investigate the effect of B2O3 replaced by Nd2O3 studies on spectroscopic characteristics trivalent neodymium (Nd3+)-doped glasses using XRD, FTIR, absorption, and emission spectroscopy. Methods: The were synthesized conventional melt quenching technique at 11500 C. amorphous nature samples was confirmed x-ray diffraction studies. Findings: addition concentration affects absorption properties Nd3+ ion measured in near-infrared luminescence range from 0.9mm, 1.06 mm, 1.36mm associated with 4F3=2!4IJ (J = 9/2, 11/2, 13/2) transitions. Novelty: novelty present work is to fully understand characterize doped borate bulk different doping concentrations. So as gain an insight mm corresponding 4F3=2!4F11=2 transition, these are highly potential one which applicable NIR emitting solid state device. Keywords: ions; FTIR; UV; Photoluminescence; Borate
